In two and a half weeks, Jorge and I will be heading up to Portland, Oregon for a little weekend get-away. We first visited Portland back in 2013 for a wedding / vacation, and we absolutely loved the city. Relaxed vibe, incredible food and gorgeous nature abound. Before our 2013 trip, I asked you guys for foodie recommendations, and you seriously delivered. So here I am again, asking for some new recommendations 🙂 What are the new hotspots? What’s changed? Any fun non-foodie activities that you would recommend (tours, hikes, boutiques and the such)?
Thanks again for your help, and if you want to check out highlights from our trip, come say hello on Instagram!

Haven’t been to Portland in awhile, but last time we were there we had a great day wine tasting in the Willamette Valley! Have a great trip!

If I was going back to Portland for a visit, I would have as many breakfasts at Pine State Biscuits as I could fit in. Fried chicken biscuit sandwich with apple butter! Or sausage gravy. You HAVE to go there.
I don’t know if you guys are into sour beers, but Cascade Brewing pretty much dominates that field and they’re in Portland.
I also miss Nong’s Khao Man Gai and her chicken dish and whatever she puts into that addictive sauce on the side.
Voodoo Donuts is so over-hyped. Skip it and go to Blue Star instead.
I’m also a fan of eating my way through the food carts downtown while deciding what to eat for “real lunch”.
Have a fun trip!

I’m a Portland native and I have to agree with the comment to go to Blue Star, so much better than Voodoo.
For dinners, you’ll want to check out:
– Ox
– Ava Genes
– Toro Bravo
– Davenport
Have fun!
