7 Easy Recipes for Mother’s Day Brunch

    Easy Hollandaise Sauce

My Mother lives in New Jersey, so unfortunately, I won’t be able to make this tasty Mother’s Day brunch menu for her.  However, Jorge’s Mom will be visiting this weekend, so I need to get things in order.  I’ve laid out 7 recipes here to help you (and me) put together an easy yet impressive Mother’s Day Brunch.  From cocktails to canapés, I’ve got you covered.  Many of these recipes can be made in advance, so you can avoid slaving away in the kitchen before sunrise.  And here’s a little tidbit for those of you who are thinking about going out to eat with Mom:  Mother’s Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants.  Busier than Valentine’s Day!  Avoid that craziness, and have a nice brunch at home 🙂  Continue reading for the recipes.

First up, St. Germain and Champagne.  Every good party starts with a good cocktail.

Next up, Easy Homemade Hollandaise spooned over fried eggs and toast (pictured above).  Serve with some fried bacon or sausage to round out the plate.  You can seriously make this hollandaise in a matter of moments.  Here’s video proof:

Brunch must have some sort of baked good like muffins, biscuits or scones.  Preferably, these Orange Cardamom Scones.  PS.  You can make these on Saturday, and store the unbaked scones in the refrigerator until you are ready to bake off Sunday morning.

To take things to the next level, top those scones with some homemade Apricot Elderflower Jam.  The notes of elderflower in the jam will mirror those found in the cocktail mentioned above, tying the meal together.  This jam can also be made in advance.

Finally, add in an element of fun and whimsy with my Deviled Eggs Three Ways (3 different recipes!).  This is your chance to let loose with flavors, and serve up something that is completely unexpected.  I’ve been hearing from friends and family that the Avocado Bacon varietal is always the party favorite.  Hard boil your eggs, and make the fillings in advance.  Pipe the filling into the egg whites and garnish the morning of the brunch.

To all those Moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!!  Be sure to enjoy your special day.  You deserve it 🙂

As always, timely advice and assistance. You took care of the menu for me! I think Jorge’s Bacon Cheeseburgers will also go over big with the family this weekend!

We went with chicken–but the cheeseburgers are definitely on the Memorial Day BBQ menu!
